The reputation of the teacher is possibly one of the most fickleof all professions, the reason for this being the closed environment to which they work. As in all professions, reputation is important so to be able to carry this reputation forward it is important to earn the respect of not just pupils but colleagues, peers and the local education authority. Experience within local education authorities creates local professionals, as easy as this is to state it is just as easy to understand because of the relationships built between the teacher and other local professionals within the professional environment of the
In addition, the teacher is responsible for researching the subject area to ensure a wide, current knowledge base that will help when establishing credibility and professionalism, and then to develop a variety of interesting ways to deliver the content whilst ensuring a safe working environment for students. The teacher’s role is then to deliver the lesson content in a manner consistent with the learning styles and requirements of the delegates. These might include lecturing, large group discussion or case studies.
Mr. Rose presents many descriptive vignettes of teaching professionals in his life who have influenced him both positively and negatively and whom he has retained for emulation or distinction. These characters in his life include teachers from grammar school throughout his college experience. All have in one way or another left a considerable imprint on his recollection of school and learning.

The teachers chosen for this study were recommended by both parents and principles. These teachers have a passion for learning and created a community in which the students felt safe. The teachers also created a bond with each of their students to prevent competition between each other. They also were not dependent on the standards or textbooks
Lastly, by actively engaging students in a variety of interesting activities that encourage critical thinking and discovery, time misbehavior is minimized. The key is preparation and participation. Having activities and lessons prepared will negate the acts of sleeping, misbehavior, and/or sitting idly for the bell to ring. Furthermore, collaborative strategies can be used to help students become self-reliant learners that take responsibility for their own learning. For instance, when students explain the purpose of learning the material, they can assess their own progress and the relevancy to their lives.

When I think about teachers that I have had in the past, several different ones come to my mind. Each of these educators stands out in my mind for a variety of diverse reasons. Whether it is their sense of humor, their tactfulness, their love of the subject matter, their fanatical and sporadic behavior, or their yearning to be childish themselves, I can still remember at least one quality of every teacher I have ever encountered.
