Many places in society are setting policies on digital device. The principal at my school has also set policies on banning cell phones in school. Students should not be permitted to use cell phones in school. Using cell phones during school allows students to cheat. Students will be more distracted by cell phones and pay less attention to the teacher and to the lesson. Students have a higher chance of getting in trouble if they use cell phones in school rather than if they are not allowed to use digital devices in school. Many digital devices can be set on silent; a student can receive a text message during a test. Teachers will not be able to hear the cell phone; this allows students to easily cheat on tests. Many students will play on their phones and not pay attention to the teacher and the lesson that the teacher is giving. Students are sent to school to learn and by playing with cell phones during classes students are not learning anything that will help them with a career or their futures. Students can also text friends in other classrooms and not have their minds in the classroom that they are in. Students may eventually stop coming to school because they can just stay home and use their cell phones and do other things. Some students do not use their digital devices for the good that they have, but for the bad. Many students are more likely to get into serious trouble with they law and have serious legal problems. If students are allowed to use their cell phones in school and they get caught doing illegal things on their digital devices such as sexting, they will be punished by the law. This cause major trouble for some students. Many students will also bully other students more during school hours. If bulling numbers go up it will cause many problems for the school administration. Some students may also stop coming to school if bulling gets to severe. Therefore using digital devices in school causes more problems for the students and the school. The final result of using digital devices during school hours is not a good one. Students can cheat more easily, which means that they are not preparing for the future and society.
Even though phones can be used in school for educational purpose, as in taking test or getting research, they can also be a hazard. Many teachers and even parents are worried about whether or not phones need to be band. There are many reasons to why phones should or shouldn't be banned, but more of the problems that teachers run into are against cell phones not for. With kids bullying or being bullied through social media and even text and videos, cheating may occur, along with texting in class and not paying attention in class.
Most schools do not allow the use of cell phones in school or in class, so the school feels like changing their policy of cell phone use might be a bad idea. Students could take advantage or miss use the privilege of phones in class. There will always be students who act out in class, but the school must discipline those who do and reward those who do not.
Allowing students to have their cell phones out can allow them to be able to go on the internet and look up answers to a test or class work. They could text another student and ask them for answers. Also, allowing students to have cell phones in class, can make a chance for cyber bullying to happen. A student that may not be friends with another classmate could capture an embarrassing moment for the student and post it to allow all of his friends to see it. Students could video or take pictures of a teacher during class which could get the teacher in trouble. Allowing cellphones in class will more than likely just cause lying and
Tap Tap, Tap. Students are constantly using cellphones in class when they should be paying attention to important materials in class. Some schools have banned cell phones. Some schools are taking advantage of cell phones and trying to them to open new possibilities for new learning experience. A cell phone is a piece of technology that can have a positive and negative effect. For example you can use it find out what you need to study. It depends on the user. Cell phones can also be used to cheat and then you wouldn’t be learning anything, except how to cheat. Do you really think that we should allow these with children that don’t know how to use them correctly? I wouldn’t. Although cell phones can open new opportunities to learning, we can not assume that students will use them for academic reasons. Therefore, cell phones are not the best thing to have in school, they shouldn't be allowed in school to ensure a good environment for the future generations of mankind. The negative effects from cell phones can distract kids from the subject they are learning in school, reduce the amount of respect students show teachers, and make schools less empathetic. The only thing that schools will get from allowing cellphones in class is nothing but trouble.
So why would they want to listen to a teacher talk if they can talk about something they actually want to talk about just as easily? When students are paying attention to their cell phones instead of the teacher, their grades will eventually go down, and it will be harder for them to get jobs later in life. Cell phones during school hours could really destroy the learning environment and many other opportunities.
Cell phones should not be allowed in school. There are many reasons why cell phones and cell phone use are a detriment to learning. These reasons include the following: cell phones can negatively affect social well-being, they can interfere with academics, and they can enable harassment and cyber-bullying inside and outside of school. As a result, schools should not allow cell phone use on their campuses.
Thirdly, cell phones are just another item, and banning them makes them more irresistible to people, especially teenagers. "As a student, I understand that cell phones are distracting while a teacher is trying to help the students--but at the same time, I believe they become even more distracting to the class as a WHOLE when teachers make a huge deal out of trying to take a phone away or punish a student for having a phone out."(Answer.yahoo.com-2009)Cell phones could be one of the 5 distractions-talking, playing, throwing, devices, and physical actions. With cell phones you're making less distraction to the class because you’re not disturbing anyone but yourself and that’s a good
Students shouldn’t be allowed to have phones in school because students can easily use them to cheat on tests and quizzes. According to U.S. News “More than one third of teens with cell phones admit to having stored information on them to look at during a test or texting friends about answers.” (Miners, “More than”). Many people already use phones to cheat now even when phones aren’t allowed, so allowing phones to be present in the classroom will give students easier opportunities to cheat. Cheating is also unfair to the students who study and work hard to make grades. So phones not being allowed in classrooms is a better choice so students will study and learn instead of just cheating using their phone.
Akers states that students use cell phones to make fun of another or to harass others. Another piece of evidence is from the same article that states a problem is "Secretly taking inappropriate photographs of other students and disturbing them". This information proves how phones shouldn't be allowed because they can be used to make others unwanted, embarrassed, or unsafe within schools. On to the next topic. A second reason why cell phones shouldn't be allowed is because. Students need to understand the rules of having a cell phone in class how they don't need them all the time. Here's a quote from the article "As Schools Lift Bans on Cell Phones, Educators Weigh Pros and Cons" by Kinjo Kiema. ""Don't feel as if because students have the devices they have to be using them all the time," she explains. "They just really need to be careful and thoughtful and take baby steps, and develop a nice protocol and rules and structures for how students physically handle the device in the classroom." The quote explains how students shouldn't always be on there phone to get answer and how they should understand the rules of the classroom about cellphones . A second quote is
losing focus on school work. Not only are the phones a distraction, but it can be used to cheat
When people talk about cell phones in classrooms, people can be very split. People say that it can distract students and fellow classmates, with text messaging and video games so present with our day and age. But, what I believe is that with new and upcoming age of technology, Cellphones are going to be much more relevant in the world we live in. This is the reason students should be allowed to use this tool in places like the classroom.
One reason of why phones should not be allowed in school is because it causes too many distractions in class. Some children tend to forget to turn their phones of in class. Sometimes, theirs phone might ring, which causes the whole class to lose their concentration. They can also get in trouble for not following the rules. Students many sometimes use theirs phones to text during class time. They might text their friends or anybody else. For example, Snapchat. Snapchat is one of the most used world wide media in the world. Lots of children have those nowadays. Instagram Facebook, and Twitter are also some of the things that these teens use to text during class. Games cause distractions also. Many girls and boys play games in class instead of doing their work. That can cause their grades to fall dramatically.
According to David Raths, “Twenty-four percent of K-12 schools ban cell phones altogether, and 62 percent allow phones on school grounds but ban them in the classroom.” A communication tool that has become part of our everyday lives, creating a sort of dependence, is limited or banned for most K-12 students. For a population that always has access, limiting this connection seems backwards. Cell phones have changed everyone 's life in one way or another. From how they communicate to how they learn in the classroom. Students should be allowed to use their cellphones in class because it would cut down money spent on computers, allow students to use
Devices shouldn’t be allowed in class. First of all, devices should not be allowed in class because it can distract everyone in the classroom. If one person starts using their device, everyone else in the classroom will start using it too. Secondly, it will affect your school grades. Because most of the time, whenever the teacher allows students to use their devices, students take advantage of it and decides to use social media instead of what the teacher assigned the students to do work. Lastly, students can do inappropriate things on their devices during class. Students would take pictures of their classmates without their consent and cause cyberbullying. Also, Students would play games on their phones in class. They also have the opportunity
Cell phones aren’t usually that big so it gives the students a great opportunity to cheat. Most of the time during a test, students go to different websites to look for answers .Since they get free Wi-Fi in classrooms; it even becomes easier for them to cheat. In addition to that students can also trade answers with other students in class through Facebook, sms, kik, message and other social apps.Nowadays, cell phones have become one of the most useful source in America. In other words, a month earlier, I was looking through some photographs in my library class .The pictures were about students who cheats on class works, tests, quizzes and homework and can even go to Gail for plagiarism. On the other hand, today’s students take this as a joke. They don’t realize how it affects their grades. You can cheat a lot in life but one day there will be nothing to cheat from or anyone to get the answers from. In spite of this it is not always mandatory for someone to depend on a source more than themselves. This was another reason to explain why students should not be allowed to bring cell phones to school.
