Would you rather have a pet that is messy and needy or a pet that is clean and self sufficient? It is undeniable that cats are way better than dogs. Cats can lick themselves clean, and they make little to no messes whereas dogs slobber everywhere and need to be given a bath. Dogs also take forever to train and have a shorter life expectancy than cats while cats take less time to train and will be around longer. Wouldn’t you rather spend less time training your animal and have more time with them? Not to mention, dogs can be a pain to take on walks, but cats use the litter box without any assistance. Dogs are also a lot louder than cats and definitely more frightening. More people are scared of stray dogs than of stray cats. Do you really want a dog that will be loud and obnoxious and scare off your guests? With all these reasons it’s hard to deny that cats are tremendously better than dogs. Canines are extremely messy, needy and smelly. They slobber, stink and need to be taken on walks. A dog will slobber on you and your things like a non-stop waterfall. They’re slobber, like the rest of their body reeks. Their smell will not only be on them but on you, your house and in your car. Wouldn’t you rather have an animal that keeps its saliva inside its mouth and hardly smells of anything? Unlike cats, dogs also have to be taken outside on walks to use the bathroom. A cat on the other hand will quietly use the litter box without your help. You could always let your dog out in
There was once a time they worked harder than us humans do. Back then only wealthy people owned dogs for labor purposes. For example, they chased foxes away from chicken coops and frightened rats away from restaurants. They hunted animals and pulled heavy items over snowy hills. They helped save many people's lives when fires occurred because they alerted the people. In effect, they were not considered as pets because they had a bad odor and were way too filthy to be indoors. They did not receive care so if they were ill or injured, they would either have to heal themselves or even die. In the late 1800's, things were looking better for the dogs' future. The country was becoming wealthier, so people could now afford to feed and take the care of a pet. Now, we see dogs not only as pets, but as family
Whether it is an inside cuddle buddy, or an outside mice killer, cats make wonderful pets. While dogs stay dirty, drool, and bark, cats clean themselves, are clean animals, and meow quietly. Cats are warm and fuzzy and love to cuddle while they take naps. Dogs are too rambunctious and energetic. Cats make better pets than dogs.
One of the dog’s best advantage is that according to the article, ”they can be trained to protect your home, keeping it safe from harm.”(Anonymous) The dog’s ability to defend it’s owner alone justifies it as the better option for many every household from the frail elderly to the budding family. Furthermore the cat cannot adequately guard its household, and may even disregard its owner’s property and viciously destroy furniture as mentioned
Dogs are friendly, loyal house pets. They are intelligent, so they can provide services to people, such as working with police officers at airports searching bags for bombs and illegal drugs. Dogs work as guards protecting families and their most valuable belongings. Many disabled people live with trained dogs. These animals are versatile, intelligent and loyal. By far, dogs are more superior pets than any other pet. People should be allowed to keep pit bulls as pets because there is a lot of misunderstood information that people do not know about, and they are not aggressive, and they are an excellent dog/ pet.
The cats versus dogs debate is probably as old as the existence of early canines and ancient felines. Dog owners have long argued that dogs are better pets, but me, as a cat owner, beg to differ, and here’s why.
Dogs’ eagerness to please their masters is also a commendable trait which cats simply don’t have. Without this, it would be very difficult to train dogs for the many jobs they now hold, from aiding law enforcement personnel and herding sheep, to seeing-eye dogs and even helping exterminators locate hard-to-find infestations. Cats
While dogs and cats are a lot alike, you have to consider their differences before you choose your pet. As mentioned before cats do not require cleaning nor exercising or training, while dogs are in need of all these things. If you want to raise a pet then, try to manage your time before you choose your best
Another difference between cats and dogs is their social interactions. Dogs are more of pack animals. Members of their pack or family are very critical to them. They look for a
The domestic dog has to be one of the most unique animals that the human had ever bred. All dogs were formed differently and for separate reasons; whether it be for their looks or for their personal attributes, the dog has been evolved around humans and yet many breeds were created by humans themselves. I also believe that having a dog is a necessity to having a balanced life, just how Cesar Millan was quoted on the Brainy Quote web page “The dog can only become what's in your bubble. The dog is imitating the energy that is in your bubble. You are the source, the feast of energy. If you feel anxious, the dog becomes anxious with you. If you become nervous, the dog wakes up nervous with you”. Your dog runs off of your actions and emotions
Owning an animal can take up a lot of time. For most people time is of the essence, and spending a lot of time on an animal is unrealistic . Cats are able to live without their owners for days on end. They can usually find something to eat, and pee if plants for example. But dogs need to be put in kennels and looked after by another person. Dogs also have to be put on leashes when they are outside. Cats have the ability to roam freely because their owners do not have to worry about them causing a lot of trouble. A cat is allowed to be outside until late hours because owners know that the feline will make its way home, where as a dog at night is usually brought inside, or chained up outside.
Dogs have been domesticated for as long as 135,000 years which makes cats seem fairly new to the household. Both dogs and cats were originally used for reasons that benefited human work. Now- a-days, dogs are far more useful with job skills. When I was little, I used to live outside. Not literally, but just in the sense that I was an outdoors kind of child. I enjoyed helping my dad with household projects and was ecstatic when I found out he would build a tree house for me. While he built the major part of it with dangerous equipment, I put myself in charge of collecting sticks to try and “help” my father put it together. Sooner or later, Nemo, my dog, was running back and forth with sticks in his mouth helping me collect what I needed.
I have heard the old saying that dogs are man’s best friend. I don’t know much about dogs, but I do know a lot about cats. I have had a cat as a pet for at least 30 years. They are wonderful and I know I will always have one in my life. I think cats make the perfect pet because they are self sufficient, intelligent, and good companions.
Along with similiarties, there are many differences between the two as well. The first difference many people notice or have to take in account is the way cats behave vs dogs. Cats are known to be very independent. They don’t need constant attention and love like most dogs do. Elizabeth Allen (2015) states, “The results of the study reveal that while cats might prefer to interact with their owner, they do not rely on them for reassurance when in an unfamiliar environment, and the researchers believe this is because of the nature of the species as a largely independent and solitary hunter.” This study shows that although most cats like interactions with their owner they do not need them.
There is always the chance that someone could prefer both cats and dogs. This fact is supported by people who have both, but are more likely to think in the same fashion of a dog person. In this case you are also likely to talk to your animals, possibly have a four year degree and even dislike animal-print clothing. I know those sound a little nuts but I have to admit when you need someone to talk to cats are great. I am working on that four year
The second difference is that dogs are generally smarter than cats. Their owners can train the dogs to do tricks when commands in a short time, conversely people have to whether spend a lot of time to train cats or cannot. Some of the most common tricks of dogs are to roll over, to shake hands, to sit down, to lie down, and to stand by two legs, and so on. Besides do tricks, dogs are train fight skill when their owner are attacked suddenly. In contrast, we have never seen a cat do any of these things. The only thing a cat is good at is to catch mice.
