c. This shift in the increase in responsibility is a huge contrast to high school teacher being responsible for keeping student responsible for their own assignment.
2. A student transition
a. Student becomes a more active learner due to the lack of teacher who are willing to provide all the information to student.
b. Student will realize in about a week or two that nobody will come to give them supports, instead you will have to go to people to ask for help.
c. This is a huge difference compared to life in high school where student tends to be a passive learner in high school because teacher in every class comes to help you without asking, like providing a study guide on test that way you know what to study for.
3. How student addresses teacher also as you make the transition from high school to college.
a. “Students are expected to say Dr. or Professor to teachers because of their credibility” (Klein & LaPolla “How College is Different from High School”).
b. It is also a sign of disrespect if students do not call them by those names.
c. On the other hand, students are expected to say Mr., Ms., or Mrs. to teachers in high school due to their degree of education, which is common difference between High School life vs College Life.
B. [Transition] Now that we understand
a. The course content I would use this strategy for would be in Social Studies. However, this concept could be applied to any area that would be taught in the eighth grade.

c. While watching this video, we can practice _______; we can try to understand a culture on its own terms.
b. How does the tutoring reflection demonstrate your knowledge of the major areas of exceptionality in learning?
C. I agree because America is a place where people can defy the odds against them and achieve greatness. Also, students with no prior acquaintance on the matter would be more open to learn, rather than those who already have an opinion. To say they couldn’t do it would be prejudice and this is not supported in the educational field.
a. I'm big on putting the onus on the student to be responsible for his or her own education. I have the ability to teach 9th graders this year and I really want to cut the cord from the dependence of their mom and dad. I believe in autonomous learning and in order to do that the kid has got to be spokesmen for their own education.
b. I will primarily engage students in critical thinking by asking students higher level questions, whether that be in general discussion, in bellwork, or through document based questions.
My first day as a seventh grader was crazy. Once I got off the bus, I walked into the building and found myself not knowing what to do. So, I just followed the other kids to see where they were going. After following them, I found myself in the gym. Everyone was talking to their friends and comparing their schedules to see if they had any classes together. I looked to see if I could find any of my friends from last year, and fortunately I did. They were sitting on the other side of the gym at the top row. I walked up the bleachers stairs and sat by them. I had not seen some of them since the last day of sixth grade. Then, I saw Mrs. Grieb and Mrs. King come up to give us a first day of school speech.
C. regard children as active beings who modify their own thinking in response to environmental demands.
Incoming college freshmen undoubtedly have a ton of important questions about school. While all of their questions should be addressed, there are a few that carry more weight than others. The following four questions count among the most important that these students should answer before they start school.
a. I know college won’t be easy, but if I give it my all, I will succeed.
A. I didn't want to spend the last few sweet days of my summer looking at the pathetic faces of my fellow students.
