A free body diagram is a geometrical representation of the different forces acting on a body which are placed for the direct contact points of the body with the arrows showing their implemented direction thereby helping in evaluating the forces that act upon it.
We need to replace the loads with the forces that are there at every point of contact. The concentrated loads will be replaced by single reactions, the fixed cable will also be replaced by single reaction (don’t be confused if it is fixed, as fixed points have to be replaced by three reactions but in this case the beam isn’t directly fixed it is connected with the cable), the pinned by the two reactions and the self-weight with a single reaction.

- 4 Please help.Provide Free Body Diagram, labeled with appropriate quantities to better understand. Also solve. Thank you.arrow_forwardA uniform horizontal strut weighs 370.0 N. One end of the strut is attached to a hinged support at the wall, and the other end of the strut is attached to a sign that weighs 170.0 N. The strut is also supported by a cable attached between the end of the strut and the wall. Assume that the entire weight of the sign is attached at the very end of the strut. 30° Restaurant Find the tension in the cable (in N). Find the force (in N) at the hinge of the strut.
